We Will Fall by The Stooges. That whole first album is amazing groundbreaking Proto-punk and then that song is 3 times as long as any other song on that album and aimlessly meanders until it mercifully ends

"Zombie" by The Cranberries. God, that song is just both overplayed and absolutely awful. Their best material included their softer, romantic or sentimental tunes. Stuff like "Dreams", "Linger", "Ode to My Family" or "You and Me" played to their strengths whereas "Zombie" or "Salvation" felt overwrought and hollow.

I always kinda liked that one. Interesting change of pace from the soppy lovey dovey stuff they normally put out, though I dig that too. Kinda punk rock in a way.

To be honest Florence + the Machine hasn't put out a song I don't like in SOME capacity but there is always one on the bottom of the totem pole and for me that is " Kiss With A Fist "

It's from the first album and it's a nod to her time in a different band before she started her own and found her own sound? It was definitely more pop-punk inspired and that's not usually my thing.

I do like hearing it every now and again but it's usually left out of my rotation.

"Here Again" by Rush. But I don't hate it; it's just kind of slow, dull, and uninspired. Luckily it was stuck at the end of side 2 of their first album way back in 1974, so it's easy to just skip over.

while ''hate'' is a strong word but Now is my least favorite Paramore track because the song's redundant af hook derails it for me (the Now-ow-ow refrain in particular) which is sad cause i dig the instrumental and Hayley's vocal delivery on the track.

Unfortunately, probably all of Coheed & Cambria's last album.

It was just...unbelievably bad. I can't even bring myself to listen to it a second time. They went through a weird few years where Claudio didn't know how to continue the concept albums so they did Color Before the Sun, which before the last album I considered their weakest album. Then they came roaring back, dropping the absolute banger Vaxis I. After Vaxis I, I was super hyped for Vaxis II. After the COVID hiatus, they finally released the "Shoulders" single, which was a pretty good track so I was excited for more. Imagine my disappointment when they finally dropped the full album and it was like they took all the things that made Color Before the Sun bad and fused it with this onslaught of Lady Gaga-esque pop. It was like they took the winning formula from Vaxis I and all the other things that made their concept albums great in the past and threw it out the window.

Listening to Vaxis II was the physical embodiment of "My disappointment is immeasurable, and my day is ruined."

Steely Dan - It’s a toss up between Dirty Work and Peg

Dirty work might as well be Chicago. Too 70s sounding for my taste. A few other songs could probably fit this description, especially on CBAT. I love Steely Dan because they generally don’t sound like all of the other bands in the 70s

In Peg, I absolutely hate Michael McDonald screaming PEEAG at the top of the chorus. It’s not a bad song, but it’s extremely popular and that’s why it makes my list

Interesting. I actually love Color Before the Sun. Wasn't huge on Vaxis I. I think Vaxis II is a little better than I, and I think Color Before the Sun is better than both of those. I'm about to blaspheme right now and say that I don't really like the first Good Apollo, but I think Good Apollo 2 is awesome. I feel your sentiment though, although Coheed has always done whatever they wanted from the very beginning, I do wish they'd get a bit more creative again.

HardRock_HardCock t1_it4y5mr wrote

You. Don't. Like. Good. Apollo. I....????????

I can't believe such words were ever spoken. Good Apollo I is one of the greatest prog albums ever written. Ugh...I need to sit down before I vomit.

In all seriousness though, I'm not saying Color is a bad album, it was just the weakest from a writing standpoint compared to all the others. Island is a fun song, You Got Spirit Kid is fun, Atlas is good. Personally Peace to the Mountain is my favorite off that album. But all the other tracks just seem to fall short. I give it like a 6.5/10.

Vax is I brought us back into the Coheed we all knew and loved. Dark story telling, heavy, shifting prog riffs, thundering bangers, but also mellower sounds to help cleanse the palate and let the listener breathe. A great prog album is like a 10 course dinner that keeps everyone on their toes while controlling the flow of the art. Vaxis I is a great prog album. Vaxis II felt like a bunch of recycled riffs and it wasn't even until Track 10 (10 out of 13!!!!) where we finally got to hear something resembling a banger.

I know..but I'll admit that I like good Apollo I more after seeing them play it in full a few years ago now. And I get what you're saying. Other than Beautiful Losers, the first real track, it's not until the end that we get what we really came for.

As for Coheed as a whole, I've come a long way as far as liking them goes. In high-school I tried IKS, I bought it Walmart even. Gave it away immediately. I even was that douche bag making fun of people for liking them. Many years later I came around to them. IKS is 10/10 for me now. Top shelf stuff lol.

I think she hasn't had one like it since,

BECAUSE she has gotten better and outgrown it.

It's not a style that fits her as well and is the only song of hers that I feel like . . . has a time capsule element to it? To where you HAVE to be in that Pop-punk era mood for it and that's just NOT my genre.

I thought I absolutely hated Paramore because that era had such bad music for the most part. ( I found out I like SOME Paramore songs but that's another story )

But yeah I think it's easily at the bottom. I like it but it's definitely the worst, but I'd still give it a 7.5/10

Everybody Else Is Doing It... is easily their best album as it's their most consistent. No Need to Argue also has great tunes despite "Zombie". "Ode to My Family" sincerely moves me to tears.

Just because I don't like "Zombie" or "Salvation" doesn't mean I dislike them.
