It is extremely expensive but you asked for the legal way to get these which is to go out there and buy them all.

You can most certainly look for compilation albums that came out of Poland around that time because if they were popular radio songs chances are they'll be on those compilation albums and you can often get an album a lot cheaper than the individual songs.

For songs that you can't get anymore I'm not really sure what you mean either the artists have made them available digitally or they have not in which case then you will need to go find someone who has an old hard copy on CD or cassette and you will need to rip that to a digital file.

Music tech companies have made it a real pain in the ass to actually own music. In the past however I have used apple itunes to buy singles. But I don't own an apple device anymore (man I miss ipods being a thing) so it's a huge hassle trying to move those files to a different service.

Lol I'm going to show my age ( if I hadn't already with the ipod comment) but it's fascinating you say that bc when the digital music revolution first started and CDs were so crazy expensive, that was when piracy was at it's prime. And they've come full circle! All the companies expect you to have an expensive subscription service now and I hate it. I own so much music now but I can't even play it on my own devices anymore w/out a subscription. It's infuriating.

Piracy really started with cassette tapes before CD. We made mix tapes, made copies of our friends albums and recorded songs from the radio.

The free version of Spotify will allow you to make playlists and play it randomized. The pay version will allow you to play in order or individual songs.

I don’t know the laws in your country, assuming Poland. But, in the USA, while they tell you it’s illegal, it is not. It is copyright infringement. That’s vastly different than illegal, in a Legal definition sense.

The other thing to understand about copyright is pursuing legal action is typically not going to happen if this is just for personal use. It’s expensive to prosecute. So, they typically will not go after an individual listening to music in their home for their own enjoyment.

They will sometimes prosecute big companies, or where the music is heard by a large crowd. Like, if a movie uses music for a sound track without permission. But, they don’t normally go after someone that downloads some tracks to listen to personally. That’s mostly unheard of.

The music industry is one of the industries that have not evolved into the age of computers and digital media. They are still very old school and archaic. I tend to not worry about it because of that.

I have tried to license music legally, and it is a very difficult and grueling process. I don’t have any respect for that business. Artists make zero money from sales of their albums. Touring used to be where they made their money, but now even that is wilting. I don’t know what is going to happen, but the music business has put itself in this situation. It’s not our fault to want to listen and enjoy music. The only people getting rich are the mega stars and the music executives.
