It’s not my favorite album or anything but it is a damn fine example of what can be done in a studio by someone (Jeff Lynne) that has mastered the art of using the technologies and skills of others and combining them to make one plus one equal three. Like the classical composers did with their technologies in their time and place.

So so many to choose from! Being a lover of r&b, hip hop, rap, the first thing that comes to mind are dope remixes- most people don't have a clue at where these sounds come from and can be soooo eclectic.

For the good, I'd play him some Warpaint, which is the only modern, popular music which I think can hold a candle to the great European masters. For the bad, I'd play him some Nicki Minaj, or any one of the numerous other "hip hop" songs that the major label pop music factories churn out.

Kind of egotistical to suggest your own stuff but… I listened to the first few tracks and I think you would have to give him acid first?

Did you write an album just to fuck with people that are tripping?!

Seriously though, if you haven’t run across þorkell (thorkell) sigurbjörnsson you should give it a listen. I think there are some ideas in there that you would like. It’s the first thing your music made me think of.

Their best album, actually. So much energy and raw awesomeness. New albums are good but more planned. It's very root centric. Still good. Lats is killer.

Undertow was much more harmonically diverse. And it was prime may may.

Id show him a generic mainstream rap or pop song, then repeat it again and again until he asked me to stop. At the moment he couldn't take it anymore I'd call him a music snob and ask him why he has to always ruin everyone's fun.

Give him the real authentic 2023 listener experience for people who think modern rap and pop are just okay.

I'd take him on a fast forward journey through the ages with some of my favourite.

Beethoven needs to be there, Oscar Peterson and art Tatum need to be there, Michael Jackson needs to be there, Beatles need to be there, Jimi Hendrix needs to be there. Some hip hop like Lauryn Hill or something. Nirvana, Jamiroquai, and more modern stuff like Billie eilish sort of thing.
