I’m sure deeper underground…
Don't know, maybe it's the cosmic girls or space cowboys making me listen to other music
I bet those sick beats feels just like it should
I heard about him through my electric mistress.
ChatGpt?
Lol well played.
I’m mad serious though, did I get it right?
Cloud 9
Dancing, walking, rearranging furniture. Babs is, shopping, I let the bird out of the cage
I like jamiroquai but every time I listen to them, I am reminded of Stevie wonder and I end up listening to him.
There are worse rabbit holes to fall into.
Absolutely right.
Problem is when you hit the bottom of the rabbit hole and find out about the dangerous, contagious and extreme ways in the deep.
Try PJ Morton.
I'm reminded of Jeremy Kwee. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=66_--zvqGDw
-sighs- time to dig out Songs In The Key Of Life again....
Ok but the music video for virtual insanity is top tier.
Every time I step on the moving walkways at the airport I think of this video. Sometimes I even bust a shitty little moonwalk.
😅😅 I love this
I call those Slidewalks. And I'm telling you this because I'm generally very bad at breaking things, and I'm very proud of that one. >.>
Truly, the family guy reference got me to watch the music video
You’ve never watched Napoleon Dynamite?
I got to sometime, seen bits and pieces, seems up my alley
It either is, or it isn't. No middle ground
Great band, glad you’re enjoying them. The lead singer JayKay is a really cool dude with a big car collection. They did some award winning videos too.
He also has a big big hat collection too.
I'm not surprised they got a few awards for their music videos, it's clear they put alot of work into them
Not the impression I get of him.
I still think that Cosmic Girl was actually about one of his cars, lol.
Yep it’s about his car.
Based on his voice I thought he was a black woman for quite some time
Here's them covering "Sunny" live. My favorite version of this song and the only copy I've ever come across. Enjoy!
Never heard this! Thank you!
I love Jamiroquai. I remember my mom getting me Traveling Without Moving when it came out. I was 10.
🎵You knooooooow this boogie is for reallllllll🎵
I could send you down a rabbit hole of other music from the mid 90’s in that same vein….
I’ll just say: Groove Collective’s self titled debut album, Brooklyn Funk Essentials’ debut album “Cool and Steady and Easy”, Brand New Heavies “Brother/Sister”, throw in some Portishead, Sneaker Pimps, Massive Attack, DJ Krush…
You’re welcome.
Kruder & Dorfmeister, Morcheeba & the Chemical Brothers while you’re at it
Great. I feel old now.
Jamiroquai is great. Check out Rock Dust Light Star.
Oh my god, Cosmic Girl is great and has such a cool video too.
Canned Heat may still be my favorite, thanks to Napoleon Dynamite for turning me onto that.
Assuming you’re from the US, I recall hearing something about they had one big album in the US, but then ran into legal issues or something afterwards, so they weren’t able to push the momentum. I don’t remember the exact details.
I am assuming it's more of an age issue, as I was well into adulthood in the 90's, they were HUGE in the US.
Shame, they deserve the extra popularity
Dude's got a garage full of Ferraris, don't think he's losing sleep. I wouldn't describe them as chill, though.
Just because he's already popular doesn't mean jamiroquai doesn't deserve more attention

Underrated Jamiroquai song - "Little L"
My absolute favourite! Never fails to lift my mood
My favorite of many
I was looking to see if this was mentioned. Virtual Insanity is great, but I think Little L is Jamiroquai at his best.
Nice! Enjoy :) they Also did the soundtrack to godzilla :)
Virtual insanity is what we're livin in
Napoleon Dynamite introduced me to Jamiroquai as a kid, and “Canned Heat” has been on almost every playlist I’ve made ever since.
Jamiroqu.AI
It's an AI performer designed to travel without moving
Synkronized : played in succession, tracks 2 thru 7 reign indescribable as a little mini-loop.
Haha wait... Do you skip canned heat or is once enough for you?
It's a fun one to play bass on, a perfectly fine tune. But the 2-7 equation is on a plane unto itself.
I made a playlist - you're not wrong.
Uh oh. now you've done it!
Thievery Corporation...All That We Perceive ° Lebanese Blonde °
Holographic Universe ° Firelight ° Focus On Sight
^ ...that's just a start
🤩
Ope. There I go, turning to dust again.
I wish I grew up in the 80s and 90s, seems like the golden ages to me
It was a pretty cool time to be alive. Free-range childhood was something I definitely didn't appreciate enough at the time.
Right…bad ass funk!!!!
Canned heat is my fave, had a housemate in early 00s was obsessed with them, groovy stuff good for chilling out.
You have never heard of it because you obviously weren't between 15 and 50 years old when the big hit was all over MTV and the radio
Hot property is a JAM
First album is best
Acid jazz, check out Brand New Heavies too
I love Jamiroquai. And they're a fantastic live band! OP, if you're a fan of them, you might like the Brand New Heavies and Incognito. They were part of the acid jazz grouping of bands, and Jamiroquai was also part of that movement. Buckshot LeFonque was another. And you can probably put Digable Planets into that category too. Then there are Neo Soul artists like Jill Scott.
yap, good stuff
They are awesome.
I just introduced my daughter to a few of their songs…she is a fan just like mama🥰
I remember jamming to them in high school … it’s canned heat baby
I listened their songs in the 90s and I loved them a lot. Do they still produce new singles or albums?
The keyboardist is so cool : now that he's rich and famous, he's producing free videos to teach music.
Alright
Travelling Without Moving is the BEST SELLING funk album of all time.
It came out in the 1990s. Let that sink in, and then go buy the album...and let it sink in!
I am 81years old and have been listening to Jamiroquai for 66 years
*Interplanetary Good Vibes
Just wait until the tape recording gets to Ok Computer.
I actually enjoy them as an adult. As a kid I always laughed at the videos and thought the singer looked stupid with that big hat.
Now, I think they made really good funk music.
Your living deeper under ground
If you like their music watch their videos. Virtual Insanity blew my mind when it came out. It was so amazingly done.
The reason you never heard of them before is because it's fucking JAMIROQUAI. They have some pretty good songs though
The cat in the hat
My boyfriend LOVES him. I could be happy not listening to virtual insanity again tho.
Acid Jazz when it went to the charts. It’s ok, i suppose, but Jay Kay always bothered me. Petrolhead.
If you like Jamiroquai check out Could Heaven Ever Be Like This by Idris Muhammad - https://youtu.be/0skigTyA4NE
Get ready to be dancing more than you did before.
Omg yes I love them!!! They remind me of my childhood. Lesser known to most of my generation but still a vibe :D
Congrats, they got a big catalogue to go through and so many bangers. Enjoy
Wait, does this mean you're only now discovering Napoleon Dynamite as well!? If so, that's a MAJOR WIN-WIN.
Me too lmao quite enjoy them (I literally found out about them watching a Davie504 vid lmao)
I don't think he started it, but Jamiroquai was one of the biggest artists that brought the disco revival in the 90s. If you're into something funky, I recommend also checking out Moloko.
Welcome, get immersed. Great live show too.
Their first 3 albums are sheer class. When you get to Return of the Space Cowboy, give Manifest Destiny a listen - it's just pure groove chill.
Um virtual insanity the music video alone is epic
Good vibes? I believe you mean cheeba cheeba vibes
#you give me something
Happiest song I've ever heard. Puts me in a great mood everytime I hear it.

i was jamming to them about twenty years ago and i thought i'd introduce them to my group of friends.
I was like, "yall got to check out this band i found, jam-er-row-key!"
they were like, "who?!!"
"jam-er-row-key!"
they were like, "juh-meer-oh-kai??!?"
took a minute to live that one down smdh
I remember hearing them for the first time in a "new age" store, the staff was allowed to play their music. I kinda miss stumbling organically into something awesome like that.
Seven Days in Sunny June
I'm commenting on this thread in case I need to revisit for the recommendations
Sweet. “You are my love…”
Napoleon Dynamite introduced me to Jamiroquai
Yessssssss. Quick recommendation, if I like I do it is one of their best songs, had it stuck in my head all day
He's great! I've never had the chance to catch him live but a friend of mine booked tickets to a festival in the UK at the end of summer and he's headlining the Friday!
Should be a very, very funky night 😁😁
"Coming off the high listening to jamiroquai"
They are so good
I don't listen to them much, but when I do, chances are I'm looping Feels Like It Should for the eleventy zillionth time.
Learned about them from Napolean Dynamite and yeah they're great
Great band.
Check out New Radicals , similar funky vibe. Sadly only one album was made but it is so damn good.
I bet his record company was p1$$ed when they realised they had forgotten to include the word "different" on his contract to make albums for them!

Im a huge fan of Jamiroquai and I want to know where I can find more alike music plzeaes
In the 90s he was quite popular, loved it! Wonder what happened to him..
It's a band. They're still around
My bad 😅 I just remember the guy in the music videos grooving along! 😉
[deleted]
Not a huge fan but I absolutely love Black Capricorn Day.
Solid but very samey if you play whole albums.
Fun fact, Jamiroquai is not the name of the guy. It's the hat's name.

JUST BE GLAD YOU MADE IT THIS LONG WITHOUT HEARING THAT GARBAGE
Good for you. Would you like a cookie?
Maybe, what's the catch?
