So I've just pumped for one of those drop mystery boxes. For the price they seem pretty good value but I also get it's probably just a way of getting rid of old stock or slow selling lines. As it's the third time they've done this I'm wondering what peoples experiences have been like in the past?

i feel like you will just end up with a marvel set, a skylight set and some pandas, for 99 bucks i rather just buy the gmk set i want

most are disappointed as its stuff they have too many of or low selling stuff like marvel MT3 profile sets . i personally avoid them as i have yet to see a box that was worth the price tag in actual value. i mean over the past month they have sold all the marvel sets for 35 bucks so either they get these made so cheap they can sell them on sale this cheap or they r so unpopualr they are selling them at a massive loss , id bet on the latter

From my discussions with Drop, I'd guess they are unpopular.

I've been trying to talk them into selling color sets piecemeal for a while now, like selling just a set of White on Red modifiers, to go with my BoW alphas.
Instead, they have chosen to release a bunch of horrible off colors, like the Iron Man and Captain America kits, neither of which has an option for the White on Red modifiers I have been wanting.

I think they would have been much better off creating generic kits in Blue on White, White on Blue, Red on White and White on Red.
That would have let users create their own "Captain America" sets, using their own chosen mix of colors, while letting Drop get away with paying royalties only on the Artisan keycaps.
That would also have allowed me buy the White on Red modifiers I have been wanting, as a standalone set.

Each box seems to come with 2 keycap sets one DCX/GMK/MT3 and one Skylight set, then one desk mat and a set of switches (min of 70 max of 110). Overall if you set your expectations low and happen to like most of the higher-priced keycap sets Drop has then seems like a good value.

It's their way of getting rid of the stuff nobody buys.

I got Skiidata as my MT3 set, so that was nice and just about worth the price alone. My other set was the grey on black that's default for all Drop boards. I have an Alt, Shift, and Ctrl, it's random but was still disappointing as I literally have three sets already I don't use. Box whites for the switches, I like them, but already had a bunch from my Ctrl board (swapped to Box Pink). The deskmat is a nice size, but it's Marvel.

I'll likely not get another mystery box. I'd rather just get MT3 bogo sets or wait for another deal on a GMK set like Laser that I got Black Friday for $49.
