I've always thought arcade game peripherals are so satisfyingly tactile and just fun to use. I'm surprised there isn't a bit more overlap between these interests.

Maybe there is a little - I recall GMK Shoko was based on a character from Pop'n Music.

there actually is some more overlap, someone in the rhythm game community called Lain creates custom iidx/bms controllers that use kailh low profile switches! definitely something else i'm interested in getting my hands on one day

Ahh yeah Lain's stuff is so cool! I'd also love to own one of those controllers someday - but I didn't know about them until after the sales ended.
