If you need to do a end of the year thesis, maybe do one on how a ergonomic keyboard improves health and reduces RSI complaints.

Then you have a good excuse to keep using it, in case the professor complaints about it

Might do that and will ask the keyboard community for their response as data hehe or maybe for compartment syndrome

I have the Akko Alice Pro. Definitely some getting used to compared to a standard layout - especially if you don't already touch type.
I found that I had a bad habit of pressing the 'y' key with my left index finger instead of my right. You can't really do that on this board.
That said, after the adjustment period, my WPM went up significantly. Definitely my favorite board.

Hmm after 2 or 3 days of use I got used to it already, it's very nice to type on and it improved the way i type compared to before, it's like it forces you to type properly or something like that, I also used to press the spacebar with my index finger but after using this I now press the spacebar with my thumb and overall I find the experience to be enjoyable
VioletAxle OP t1_j0zo6o0 wrote
Ohh I don't use them often, It's just preference I guess

We need that research! I'm a mech fan and climber that switched over to an ergo mech because of compartment syndrome.
I love my iris and I've been able to continue working from home sinx for typing doesn't flare it up as much now

Appreciate the quick reply, thankfully I already got rid of most of my bad habits already, so I’m realllly tempted to add one to my collection - btw just looked up the Akko Alice pro, definitely a fan of the look; you reckon it might be a better model than the Keychron?
r-bsky t1_j0zxy7t wrote
thanks OP, the quick answer helps a lot, might pull the trigger on the V8 after some additional research; I can imagine that being able to hit the space bar comfortably from any spot with either left or right, no matter if you have to perform a shortcut or are in some weird position for whatever reason, need to get my hands on one at one point; take care!

I'm on the Q10 (80% Alice) and still adjusting after a week. I've used standard keyboards forever and picked up habits like occasionally using my left index finger to hit 'y' or 'h' which is not as easy. I'm down from like 110 WPM to 80 at most.
trollmanjoe t1_j100u07 wrote
Hm. I can't really speak to the Keychron at all, as I've never used any of their boards other than trying a few friends' out before.
All I can say is that this Akko board is my favorite, and I'm thinking of buying a second for the office.
It's very well built, and the stock switches/stabs are fantastic. I have the one with the Crystal switches, I think.
