did you do something to make yours darker or it just the lighting?

Ooooooooooo what is that? I am in!!
I have previously built an ergodox, and five or six years after that, a Sol II from rgbkb.kb, which I love even more.
Those deep dishes of keys though!! I love it

Never heard of the Sol. I looked it up and rather liked it. I then spotted the soft hand case and thought that could be a winning combination. Then, I saw the price in CDN. Wow!

Oh I love it so much. It’s low profile. With just the plates it’s very slim/short. My favorite thing by far.

Wow. The one I'm wondering if I should buy. Palm pad looks so good.

That's the Kinesis Advantage 360. Unfortunately it's not hot swap and you're stuck with brown switches
ergodox_override t1_jdteua1 wrote
I would still take one without thinking about it for a second if I could get it for less than $200
Ispheria t1_jdtf6kj wrote
It is more than twice that price new lol didn't stop me from buying one though.

I will, one day. My doctor’s office exclusively uses them. It makes me happy every time I go in for an appointment.

Care to do a mini-review of the board? I'd love to get one of these and desolder/solder some lubed linears to it. Shame they didn't make it hotswap.

Also looking for something like this. I saw Angry Miao had something like it, but I don’t think I could stomach the $1700 it was.

With three mechanical keyboards behind me, and one pending on a group buy (cue the boos and hisses), the next board layout I want to try will be a split mechanical keyboard.

You can choose the switches you get on it. I was just looking at the order site. You order it to be built through upgradekeyboards.com. They have a lot of options you can pick from. Though, you are right that you are stuck with what you choose unless you want to de-solder the switches to put in hot-swap sockets or solder in new switches.

Boxing gloves are on or off?

You’re gonna love it! If you have only used staggered layouts to date there are lots of options for full staggered split to get your feet wet (or just go full Dactyl if you’re a YOLO kinda builder lol)
sleepybrett t1_jdwmah2 wrote
You can buy from upgrade keyboards and get whatever switches you want, still won't be hotswap but you will have options.

Not if you've got a soldering iron...

Thanks for the encouragement!
I'm pretty satisfied with my Keychron Q1 as it is currently and I think that the likes of my getting a split keyboard will really help me cement a lot of what I want out of mechanical keyboards for a good while. If not, I'm happy to keep exploring.
