Hi I came home today to find that a colony of ants have moved into my keyboard while I was out. I've given them some poison and isolated them in a tray of water but I haven't gathered the courage to open the board yet.

Truly dread having to pry it open and I don't know what I will do if they're in all the nooks and crannies since I don't have a soldering iron. The keyboard is my daily gaming keyboard (Logitech g915 tkl) and I just feel defeated. By ants.

couldn't you have just taken it outside and give it a couple taps? maybe open the back and remove the ants? o.o Now you're stuck with a bunch of poison and probably have to clean it out :(

Take it outside, take it apart and just let them leave of their own accord. They won't stay there once it's all exposed outside.

ive opened opened up my mech kb due to ants having a party in it. i tried brushing them off before but they kept coming back. this time around, i noticed that they were eating thru the foam layer on my kb which i cant just remove and leave out. so i took apart my kb once more and after i've made sure that i've brushed them all off, there's this ant repellent chalk that i used and spread it all over the insides of the kb, every layer, just be careful around the pcb so you don't damage a connection/contact.

haven't seen those ants since then.

hope you find a solution to yours.
