Personally I just applied painters tape anyway. Q10 came with the same tape.

This type of “tape mod” from the factory with that really thick material is not doing much good. It just sits on the hotswap sockets. Getting painters tape to touch the pcb between the hotswap sockets is what will get you that sound.

Is it really tape? It looks more like sticky cardboard also occasionally used to protect PCBs from heat.

I did a similar mod to an Akko ACR Pro 68 and am extremely happy about the added thockiness.
