It's amazing how many people will stop mid intersection and try and wave you on. Their heart is in the right place but it would honestly lead to fewer accidents and better traffic flow if you just followed the rules.

If you're taking a right with no cars behind you, just go. I'll be right behind you.

Context: Got flipped off this morning for waiting my turn and not taking the invitation to add liability to my plate.

I agree with this 100% And will someone please remind me of the rule as I am entering the highway and the yielding rule? Thank you.

And use your fucking turn signals, please. Why do people in New England think they don’t have to use them?

in boston at least, if you have a gap in the lane next to you and put on your turn signal, the driver behind you in that lane will just fill the gap, because fuck you. Only way to get the lane change is to just do it, or put the turn signal on at the exact second u start changing lanes. I've lived in a few places in NE and don't remember this happening too often outside of the boston area, but that's my best guess

my favorite is when im standing at a street corner waiting for something/somebody, and a driver will stop and try to force me to cross the street lol. Why do you want me to cross the street? I'm not going over there

That’s a particularly douchy mass-hole thing. I’m not saying people are that bad anywhere in NH, but they don’t use their turn signals as much as they should (if at all). People need know where you’re going, not just guess.

Holy fuck yes, that happens almost every day when I'm walking my dog. I've lived in about 7 different cities and never had so many awkward pedestrian - driver interactions as here.

And then the very next car could go blazing right in front of you and eye-fucking you as you're in a crosswalk!

Especially on Elm St. Like Fuck me. I try to avoid downtown like the plague as it is so crazy down there.

I assume the people that don't move when they have the right of way don't know they have the right of way.

This was one of the things I hated about NH drivers when I moved there.

“YOU HAVE THE RIGHT OF WAY! GO!” was a common saying of mine.

I live in MD now and that’s a whole level of stupid drivers which make OH drivers look decent.

It’s way safer and better to be predictable than to be nice. There’s a reason you have the right of way. Take it.

The polite thing to do is the expected thing. Giving the go ahead to others when they don't have the right of way causes accidents.
