They shouldn't be charging anything. When they choose a tenant that cost can be built into the rent. I have only paid once for an application (in Biddeford) and the guy was showing 5 groups of people, collecting those fees from each of us. It felt like a scam. We didn't end up getting the apartment and I was out $100. (That was pretty much my grocery money for the week)
