When it comes to moving a newly built trailer home it's easy to find services that will move it to a location. And it's easy to find a contractor that will build an addition onto it.

But I've got the opposite problem and I can't find help with it. I have a family member who needs to replace an old trailer home with a new one, in the same spot as the old one. But the old one has REALLY good additions built onto it, one of them is pretty big. Plus a huge back porch, and a shed that covers the oil tank. There's even a whole second goddamn ROOF that was built on top of the real roof which is huge and heavy. Forget the additions, I haven't the foggiest friggin idea how the fuck I would safely peel the second roof off there without something either collapsing or falling and killing me.

But who do I even call about this? Before we even think of moving the trailer out we have to take the additions off, and then MOVE the additions (how?) and before then we have to take the heavy ass roof off the thing safely. Who would know how to go about this?

It's in the China area, so they'd have to service that area.

Many excavation contractors do demolition. Mobile homes are difficult to take apart by hand so it's good to salvage everything useable and then have an excavator crunch it.

Be clear with the contractor about removal of the metal frame and protecting existing utilities that are usable like a well, septic, etc. There will likely be some debris leftover so understanding how clean is clean-enough helps keep you happy as a customer.

A good hammer and angle grinder will do the demo just fine. Putting a new trailer in will be the difficult part. Openings between new trailer and existing additions will be a thing, tho.

Hammer, prybar, and a sawsall with a Diablo blade.

Give me those three things and I feel like there is nothing that can stop me.

Whoever did the additions probably should have realized this and not made them so well.

call Dump Guy. They can help with the demo aspect, and do mobile homes all the time. As far as what you want kept, you would need to handle that ahead of time.
Dump Guy is 207-450-5858 and handles that area

Unless there is something exceptionally valuable it will probably be easier / cheaper to just demo anything that is attached to the old trailer. Perhaps you could save the porch.
