a reference to a phone conversation made between a recording session of Captain Beefhart and their albums owner, Frank Zappa about their new song…. The Blimp.
WBLM always seemed to have a love of all things Zappa.

I remember this, so confusing at the time. They switched with WTHT which up to then was a soft rock/easy listening station. They (WTHT) changed formats and went pop. They also became known as Thunder 107 and had a real douche of a DJ.

Is it a coincidence that Frank FM went to 107.5?

107 was my locker in elementary school, I scratched in .5 at the end. If it's still there, it's just a frank locker now.

I can hear this shirt! 107.5 was the best when I was a teen in ME. Plus Celeste lived on the same street as me, growing up.

And man it sucked when they ran Frenchie off the show….

I'm old enough to remember when WBLM billed themselves as 108 FM. It was close enough for analog tuning dials, but at some point when digital tuners became common it was time to update their merch.

Then it was 107 1/2. It wasn't 107.5 for long before they made the move.
There is actually a similar bumper sticker to the one I posted only with 108 instead.

BLM and TOS was all I listened to when I lived in New Gloucester. We strong some speaker wire across the roof and it all came in real clear. Sometimes we could even get the Colby student station. Those were the days.
