Seems a bit odd the KJ/Morning Sentinel articles on the movie about Alexis Wright do not allow comments but do run ads in the middle of the story hawking pretty "dancing" ladies from places such as Kyiv. Anyone else think it odd, too?

Ads on their website are targeted so I think this might be an issue only you’re having….

Was a time I'd sneak a peak at the mags at that little store used to be near the Circle K at the bottom of Crystal Lake, but I was 14 or so back then. Anna Nicole may have been the last centerfold I looked at. May have looked at Kim Krapdashian balancing the champagne glass on her butt cheeks but nothing more recent, no.

Tell me you’re searching for Ukrainian mail-order brides without telling me you’re searching for Ukrainian mail-order brides…

Someone who uses your internet connection clearly does. Those ads don't come out of nowhere. I just disabled my adblocker and the ads I'm getting on their articles are for the Salvation Army and some shoe company. I'm certainly not getting adult ads.

Have you said anything related to the women of Ukraine with your phone in close proximity?

Because lemme tell you, my phone can pick up on me mentioning one thing about Facebook and I get Facebook ads up the wazoo for weeks. Might be the same deal here.

My ads are for dj gear, and cooking utensils. What the heck are you googling?

I tend to use bing or startpage so the google goes mostly unused. What I do search on google gets auto-deleted on a 7-day rolling basis. What I've searched for lately is maps of the south, winter boots, native plants, lighthouses, store locations, ceramic products, wood suppliers, things on bits and pieces in the news, PRUSA builds and new books on various part of American history or by certain authors.

They might use a VPN. Those IPs are shared.

Ad logic can also be pretty tangential.

I searched for a duck themed tie for a murder mystery dinner thing and I immediately started getting ads for hunting gear.

The very fact that they know there's a movie about that person (news to me) probably means they've searched her
