Well, there was the North Pond Hermit who lived in the woods for 20+ years up in the Belgrade Lakes. He would break into camps when people were away and take canned food and batteries and books.

I don’t think he dressed as a ww2 soldier though. That would have been way before his time, and that dude just seemed like he was not super mentally sound and retreated.

Yea, different guy way up north, a bit strange but fits a similar profile, however this one seems to be a bit less natural and makes less sense.

The North Pond in question and it’s associated hermit probably wouldn’t be considered way up north. I’d venture a guess there are some legit hermits in the actual way up north though.

I'm up near bangor and I hear stories from people in the county. They're out there and really want to be left alone.

Hey, do you have anything In specific article wise?? I’ve been doing lots of research about the Bangor area, specifically with a 1895 “Wild man” encounter with Lumberjacks logging up there, so any more info about people up there would be great!
