I drove to MN over the holidays and gas was less than $3 in a couple places. Everywhere it was cheaper than here. Gas prices are falling but I am not seeing it reflected at our pumps. What’s the deal yo?!

It's farther away from refineries than pretty much everywhere else. So basically just paying for extra shipping.

And slower for the price to drop when wholesale prices do

Really? The largest oil refinery in Canada is in Saint John, New Brunswick, about an hour from Maine. 80% of it gasoline is exported to the USA. Does Maine see none of that?

My local place just dropped 20 cents.

Maine has top a 10 cost of living in the country while also having a bottom 10 economy. It's truly puzzling.

Yeah, they say it'll get lower. Not seeing it. Mass is 50 cents lower than many places in the L-A area.

Was in Maine this week and paid 3.89 per gallon, Here in Southern Ma it was 3.43 per gallon. I don't think a 46 cent delivery fee is the reason.

Just got back from SD. Indiana and Illinois were close to the same or higher than here. But Wisconsin and Minnesota were the cheapest I saw. It was hard for me to believe that NY and Mass were cheaper than here. Can really chew up the miles with 80mph speed limit in SD.

The further south you go, the cheaper gas is. It's a rule of thumb.

Prices are always slowed to drop than raise.

Maine has a weird gasoline market with spots that are drastically more expensive for no logical reason. It feels like it's gotten worse since Covid.

For the last year Bucksport has been more expensive than the surrounding towns by 20+ cents a gallon. It's strange because the gas litterally gets brought to Bucksport by ship and requires a <5 mile drive from the Webber fuels terminal to the gas stations. I believe the surrounding towns also get their gas from the same fuel terminal.
