I'm getting ready to switch from wood to a propane stove. I've used wood since 1983, but with prices what they are, and the work involved, it's a young man's game.
I like that propane is all stacked when they deliver it :)

Pellets aren’t bad. Lifting a 40lb bag once a day is pretty easy.

yep...we did pellets for a few years in Mass. Didn't like having to have power, and thought that offset any savings by quite a bit. Was also noisy, since it was in our great room.
Pellet prices have gone up a bit too...saw $399/ton yesterday.

Mine can operate off of a 12V battery if necessary. And I happen to have a few in my basement in the winter because of my boats. So not a big barrier.

I paid $320 a ton in October. I haven’t seen prices that high up here.

That was at Hammond Lumber in Bucksport.Propane looking better and better. I wish I could get wood delivered "palletized" ;)
