Yeah there’s security at the front of all the bars. If you don’t have a valid ID you’ll probably get turned away. You’ll probably find a few that won’t look at the expiration date, but it’s not a plan for success. Did you get a new temporary paper ID at least while you wait for your new one?

They are not supposed to accept expired id's or licenses by law. It's kind of dumb but that's how it is.

All depends on the bouncer/bartender…

But most likely yes, get it updated if you can.

I think they’re more likely to check the expiration of out of state ID’s. I’d say do everything you can to renew it prior to the weekend. Most states give a paper temp or a sticker. Does your state allow you to renew online? Given it’s a bachelorette party, I’d say you’re on the hook to make sure it won’t be an issue. Ugh. So sorry for this timing!

When I worked at circle k I was ordered to deny a 90 year old man an alcohol sale because his ID was expired. Maine is very weird about that

My bank, one that I have multiple accounts with, tried to tell me they wouldn't accept my 3 day expired license to cash a check once. When I explained that I would move all my business to another bank if that were the case they suddenly decided to make an exception.

Many breweries are checking and denying if your ID is expired. Go get that renewed or you might be SOL on going out in Portland.
