Where are you located?

We're north of Augusta and sold out of shares, but may be able to refer you to someone.

I'm not sure when they open their books for shares again but I've dealt with Colin from Roaring Lion farm in Sedgwick before and he's a great farmer. Really cares about his animals and respecting the path food takes to make it's way to our tables.

I get all my beef from Heartstone farms. They do shares and you can also order individual cuts (what I usually do). Just placed an order for $450 in ground beef and steaks with free delivery.

Farmer Dan, Hearthstone Farm. All organic, local beef and chicken. We bought a quarter share last month. Best meat I've ever tasted.

Go to your local farmer market and ask around. Or ask at the local butcher shop

I go up to Herring Brothers once a year for my swine and make a day of it. Great towns and trout streams along the way.

This isn't a post about diet choice. You could easily scroll on by as commenting like this is probably not the best way to sway anyone's decisions here. But thanks so much for your opinion. Truly.

Sorry! The weekend got away from me. I was going to suggest Heartstone, but see that someone below beat me to it. The quality is great - you get what you pay for with meat.

If you've never bought by the half or whole before, ask him to guide you through it so that you know just what you can expect.
