Live in York, our daughter was born at Maine Med due to York Hospital not having the same type of care in case of an emergency. Re: NICU. My wife had to have an emergency C-Section and we ended up staying at Maine Med for a week due to some complications. Best experience I’ve ever had as the non birthing parent. (Prepandemic). My wife agrees. York Hospital would have had to transfer us out and we don’t have much faith in the hospital in York due to other reasons outside of the birthing center.

Our OBGYN is out of Coastal Womens in Scarborough, so it was part of the deal to go to MM anyways. I know many women who have used Portsmouth Regional.

Thanks. I've heard great things about Maine Med but it's a 50 minute drive from us on a good day. Wasnt sure if it was worth going somewhere that far. I wont go to Portsmouth Regional for my own reasons haha. I know too many things.

Unfortunately these days it’s hard to feel great about any hospital. The pandemic has been hard on the healthcare system.
