The lobster fishery in Maine has been so sustainable because the lobstermen don't fight for more effective traps or other more lenient laws, knowing that those things will eventually kill their livelihood. These are people whose parents lived through the collapse of the cod fishery, and have no interest in seeing the same thing happen to lobster.
