The first thing my new neighbors did was put up signs for Lepage and Thelander, and a Trump Won 2020 banner.

20 years ago I lived in a conservative town and managed to get along well with my neighbors in large part due to the lack of signs. People didn't talk about politics all the time. Doing shit like putting up banners just alienates people and divides communities, I hate it.

I don't know. It certainly divides communities, but frankly I appreciate it when people put up a sign to let me know they're an asshole ahead of time.

I think that a lot of people have forgotten that just because someone votes differently than you do, doesn't mean they're a bad person.

It used to be way down on the list, in my time anyway.

I really miss the time before identity politics. I never put political signs up or put political bumper stickers on my car for this reason.

People seem to thrive on it for some reason.

Both political parties have brought everyone to this, and it's a shame.
