First off - congrats!!!

There are so many amazing places and I’d recommend doing some serious scoping out ahead of time (google street view is fantastic lol) but the first place that came to mind was the Morse Mtn / Sewall Beach hike. There are so many pretty places on that walk and the cliff overlooking the beach would be super cute for a sunrise (or sunset?) proposal. I haven’t been there in a few years so I don’t have the most up to date info but it’s definitely got a good combo of woodsy/oceany vibes and is close by to where you’ll be.

Hope all goes well with you both!!

You’re in a great spot now. There’s the big rock at popham, the fort down the road and Reed state park is across the water.

Put her ring in a bottle of Fireball, tie it around your adventure buddy’s neck, lay her down on the mountain of crusty snow at the Auburn Walmart, and let your adventure buddy “rescue” her like he’s Barry der Menschenretter. It’s romantic, exciting, and Maine as fuck. She’ll definitely say yes.

The island at Popham beach is accessible at low tide and has some amazing views.

Thank you! I’m anxiously excited as I know she has no idea. Our rental owner mentioned the same as you did for areas to explore so I’ll look more into it tonight! Fingers crossed that the weather doesn’t ruin it!

I have been looking at this as the main option, my only concern is that I’m not sure if dogs are allowed in the park after April 1st and considering Saturday may rain all day, I would have to go on Sunday.

You'd think that if Maine was so special to ya, you'd have some favorite places already.

Reid state park has a ton of picnic areas along the walking trails that run behind the beach area and are relatively private, just you and a fantastic view!

If you want a beach then Goose Rocks or Fortune Rocks beach, but that’s a bit south from you. Closer to you I’d recommend Ocean Point Walk or Pemaquid Point. Good luck!

Definitely consider Marshall Point Lighthouse in Port Clyde, which was featured in Forrest Gump. Totally picturesque worthy of popping the question. It’s beautiful during the day, but nothing beats lighthouses at night. Recently, many people flocked to capture the aurora borealis that just occurred recently here in Maine. Maybe you guys will get lucky and see some, or even some Milky Way galaxies!

Walking out to the big rock at Popham at low tide is lovely with nice views, but dogs aren't allowed on the beach after today and Reid State Park is closed for construction. If you want to go a bit further, you can go up route 1 to Camden Hills State Park and climb up the Megunticook Trail to Ocean look out- a beautiful view on a huge rock ledge overlooking the ocean. Or you can drive up to the top of Mt. Battie- same beautiful views. Pick a clear day. Dogs are allowed. Camden is a cute town.

Doubling Point Lighthouse is in Arrowsic, close to Bath. There’s a small parking area and it’s usually very quiet. It’s a nice spot!
