Its always been there. This sub because of the sheer numbers game is flooded by non practitioners. It used to be worse because in the past OP would have been downvoted to hell

It hasn't always been here. The sub was usable for reading research very recently.

They managed to stay on top of it at /r/covid19.

I guess they have a much more strict rule set that is heavily enforced.

i think something changed in the past week though. /r/MLQuestions has recently been getting a lot of "can you recommend a free AI app that does <generic thing>?". I'm wondering if there was a news piece that went viral or something that turned a new flood of people on to what's been happening in AI or something like that.
