Agreed. It's not clear if OP meant completely, or just distancing from toxic people. Toxic people, absolutely; completely, not as a general position on mental health. (There's probably a small minority of people for whom this would work, but not many.)

But in terms of eliminating toxic people, family members aren't sacred here. If you have a parent, sibling, aunt, uncle, cousin, etc. who doesn't do your mental health any favors, it's okay to cut them out of you need to. Consider it carefully, but if it needs to be done, it's okay to do it.

So true! I have an office room and use it to do work or grad school hw. It receives amazing light during the day but at night the lighting is terrible due to the fan light being behind me. I bought this light from IKEA and omg, it’s been amazing. I place it right above my desk. It’s so good, I even turn off the fan light. Color of lighting matters. I don’t do well with yellow for productivity but it’s a great tone right before bed.

It might be you’re thinking too much at work. I’ve been doing more of a architecture/design role and it’s cool work wise, but honestly it’s exhausting. I was thinking about moving to either a QA role or an non on-call support role. Just something where the tasks are more repetitive.

I want to use my energy for me. I don’t want to give my best thoughts to work. I haven’t pulled the trigger yet, but I’ve been looking at postings.
