>I'm going on a baptism of a book
Sure. Sure you are.
What? No need to be mean.
Perhaps you are unable to articulate exactly what you are asking because, as is, your post makes no sense.
I'm sorry if it does. I translated the "baptism of a book" because I'm not native, so maybe that's what confuses you. Is that what confuses you?
Again:
Perhaps you are unable to articulate exactly what you are asking because, as is, your post makes no sense.
What are you asking wIth baptism of a book?
It's in the body text.
Enjoy your day. I've tried and cannot help you.
Uhm okay. I still don't get what confuses you though? Is baptism of a book not an English phrase, or is it that you don't understand the question? The question is in the body text. "What should I do there? What should I not do there?" Etc
In English, then, you’ll be expecting the parents/guardians of the book to gather at the front of the worship hall, in front of the congregation, and your minister will splash water on the book (hopefully the pages are waterproof) mumbling some ancient incantation. At the conclusion of the baptism, the book will be presented to the congregants as the congregation’s newest flock member.
What is the title of the book?
Oh.
>What is the title of the book?
Idk
Every book has a title.
Is it fiction? A romance? Western? Historical fiction? Cozy mystery?
Or is it nonfiction? School textbook? Biography? Self-help?
Idk lol. My friend's mom invited me there and idk what she writes.
Sounds like a book launch that OP’s mom wrote or is enthused about.
Sounds to me like you need to ask your friend all about book-baptism protocols in Eastern Europe.
Good idea
If your friend’s mother is an author (writer of books) is it possible you’ve been invited to a book launch, where the author is introduced and the new book debuts?
Oh my I guess that's it. Thanks. It's probably not called baptism of a book and book launch
If it is a book launch, you’ll want to wear something nice, be groomed, and be ready to participate in the applause for your friend’s mom’s new book. She may have a table to sit at to meet and greet fans who purchase her book, and may sign (autograph) books for them.
Collecting signed first edition books can be an exciting hobby, even for the casual reader.
Okay, thank you. What if I fuck it up? Or how do I not fuck it up?
Presuming this is in a public place, like a bookstore, staff there will be experienced in handling book launches.
If you’re polite and not swinging off the light fixtures singing Katy Perry songs, you’ll probably be ok.
