If you adhere to this tip, remember to not carry said knife or scissors through the airport and have them taken, as I've now done five times.

This last time, I went to the 99 cent store and bought a couple 3-packs of box cutters. I put one in every room in the house.

Don't do this if you have little kids.

Also, make sure the blade is retracted after you are done with a cut. Don't hold the open knife while you do other things. You WILL slice your hand open.

why would you need one in every room?

Are old are you and why did it take you until today to realise this? Have you opened a box before?

This sub has turned into a barrage of stupid people realising things.

No need when I can just pointlessly dull and bend my brand new house keys to the point that they don't fit in the lock anymore.

One time I was working for an A/V contractor. We had a bunch of our techs pack up all their tools and a bunch of the product to be installed in a wooden crate, to have it shipped via truck to the site.

When they got there, they realized they'd not brought any drills with them to unscrew the crate.

Not the brightest bunch.

Dude, a house key works just as well and can be carried anywhere.

I've just carried a Swiss Army Knife for years. I don't go into courthouses or airports enough for it to really be an encumbrance.
