While in jest, this actually does point out thr problem with the lpt. Cuss words can show great emphasis and stress in certian parts if a story or phrase. This lpt is stupid is true, but really it's fucking stupid, which really drives the point home.
You get one "fuck" in a PG-13 movie - just think of well or poorly done that single instance can be and you can really see the impact a curse word can have
OP, your opinion isn't a "Life Pro Tip"!
Or just know your audience and adapt.
I’m some situations for some particular people this may be true but hardly good general advice. Sometimes cussing is necessary to make your f*cking point.
I think you un-made your point by censoring your own fudging words.
Does this LPT also apply to “mild” curse terms like “fudging” and “dad gum it”
“cheese and rice”
Jeezum crow
If you need to curse to prove your point then work on your vocabulary smooth brain.
They’re just words.

What arrant, unadulterated, asinine, blithering, reductive, stultifying, pestilential, namby-pamby horseshit.
What the fuck are you talking about?
haha dude this is exactly the sentence that popped in my head reading the post :) I like you man
Okay, dude. Have it your way.
Tbh I thought it would go right over anyone’s head. Lol
I don’t know, if it’s within my social group, it would feel weird to not curse. If it’s someone I don’t know well or someone I just met, I wouldn’t curse, but I don’t know if cursing around my friends and family detracts from how effectively I can communicate.
We should always know your audience. I've cussed in front of some parents and students to an extent (not fuck, fuck, mother, mother fuck, fuck) but that's how they know me; for the students it's more their level anyways.
Mmmmmm, studies show cursing can improve a speaker's perceived honesty. I was told to curse more in law school in certain settings and it has been very effective for me.
It really does. It changes the tone, too, because we don't sound like pompous ass.
Swing and a miss on this one, I'm afraid
This is a tragically naive misunderstanding of the use of language to make points, to push for the desired effect and result, and even use in contextual norms.
I don’t agree with this. In a professional setting, absolutely. When talking to elderly, yes When having a discussion with a friend, you shouldn’t have to worry. Even my therapist will use cuss words when I’m having a session because he realizes how fucked something is and will actually use that word. I appreciate it because that’s in my vocabulary. Just know your audience
Just gonna blanket cover all conversations and conversation partners like that, eh? Like you don't know this applies sometimes and doesn't apply others? Okay. Play it that way, OP. I don't believe you, but f*ck it.
Nobody fucking asked.
I don't want to have to rant to my church group Wednesday night about you saying that unGodly word.
"It feels distracting for your conversation partner." What a generalizing fucking statement there, OP. What, someone in a professional setting fling in an F bomb in conversation with you? I feel distracted when my "conversation partner" is too sensitive to hear a little colorful language that isn't directed to them.
Your next LPT is going to be something about not hitting someone in the mouth on company property.
Well this went just as I thought it might
This sub is such ass
I would generally agree for myself, however I know for other people this really doesn’t apply
This was told to me almost verbatim by a Mormon friend who had just gotten back from his mission.
Ned Flanders would up-diddly-doot this LPT
OP frequently posts on r/antiwork so this LPT being fucking stupid makes sense.

I like people who curse. It makes them seem more genuine. I’m also very articulate and curse constantly. It has nothing to do with “effectiveness of communication” Your opinion, and that’s all it is, is stupid
I see you , religious extremism. You can't hide from me.
Read the room; fuck that.
