Even if you have time to grab things the morning of whatever you’re going to, even if it’s something you go to often, like work, pack what you can the night before. You’ll be less likely to forget things and it will give peace of mind in the mornings as those tend to be the more hectic times of the day.

Yes - I 'idiot proof' myself always. Pays off. Some people simply are not 'morning people'.

I started implementing this by emptying my pockets into a basket by the door. Everything I need is in the basket then. It’s a bit of a learning curve because one day I got distracted and only left one or two things in it and I left the next day without a wallet or sunglasses.

I also suggest having an emergency outfit prepared and set aside in the closet. I am not a morning person and can't pivot easily if I have a spill and need to change.

Call it “giving your tomorrow self a favor”.

Few years ago my mom threw away the shirt that she thought doesn't look good on me, which turned out that this is a new uniform from the office. I panicked, searched the whole place (even the bin) and but still couldn't find it. I went to the office with a super bad mood and my colleague keep staring at me the whole day because I looked weird. This accident has traumatised me to this day.

So yes, I've been implementing this tip since that day. Not only for wardrobe, but also for the food or the backpack. It is a time and anxiety saver.

Thanks OP :)

I’m glad to hear it works for you. I just know there’s been a few times I’d be like “I need to remember this for tomorrow but I can put it in my bag in the morning” than I get there and I don’t have something I need or want.

The two biggest habits that help me are making sure I put things in the car the night before, and also choosing my clothes. I don't know why, but I can choose my clothes at night in about 5 minutes, but if I wait until the morning it's 15 to 20.

Are there people that don't do this? I've been doing it since I was 8 years old.
