The "air" in a sealed bag of chips is mostly nitrogen. Opening the bag is letting oxygen into a mostly oxygen free environment and will cause your snack to go stale faster.

If you don't eat a bag of chips on a road trip before they go stale, especially with a chip clip...you're not a real human. You're made out of Legos and bagels or something

Now you have crushed snacks that are barely edible for your trip. This should be in r/shittylifeprotips

Well you're not supposed to pack them in that tightly, it's just to allow you to close your backpack or something.

If your chips get crushed then you're a shitty packer - idk what else to say

If you're talking about a trip where you fly to your destination, why not purchase them when you get there?

If you're talking about a trip where you drive to your destination, why not eat them along the way?

You do eat them along the way, or maybe there isn't an option to purchase them at the destination..
