Sam's club and Costco sell a 500 count for around $4 under their brand names.
Inb4 people start saying "the fillers make it different medicine," because people have been saying that back to me for years when I tell them this.
No they don't. It's the same medicine.
I found this out a few years ago when I mentioned to a friend that sometimes I take a break from Nytol and take Benadryl instead because I knew taking sleep aids too frequently is bad for you in the long term. It was at this moment that she told me they are the exact same thing… oopsy. I’m hoping to spread this PSA in case anyone is as dumb as I am.
Oooooh hot damn, thank you!
HAHAHAHAHA thank you for that

LPT A glass of wine before going to bed is far healthier. Don't take sleeping pills.
Studies show there is no amount of alcohol that is healthy.
Also alcohol interferes with sleep. So it's actually bad to use alcohol as a sleep aid, since it reduces the quality of sleep.
Sleep is completely different than just being unconscious. In some stages of sleep your brain is more active than when you are awake, so taking a depressant which reduces brain activity negatively interferes with sleep.
Weird take
Long term use of diphenhydramine can cause dementia so be careful.
That’s exactly how I found out they were the same thing. I knew sleep aids can cause dementia so I stopped taking them and took Benadryl instead as needed and soon learned I’m a idiot. I’m hoping this knowledge helps fellow idiots.
You’re not an idiot. In America it contains diphenhydramine but not in the uk so that maybe where the mix up came
Here in Canada it’s pretty clear on the front of the box for both so I was in fact dumb, I can take that in stride haha.
Find a study that says that sleeping pills are better for you than a glass of wine

Neither are good, both are depressants and have a negative impact on sleep.
CBT is the go to treatment and has the best results compared to sleeping pills.
Can you say more about this?
I wonder because, those who take diphenhydramine probably have sleep problems. Aren't sleep problems also related to dementia?
