Most if not all new shower heads sold are required to be Low-Flow, meaning they have a small barrier of some sort blocking the water from flowing at full pressure. For many shower heads this is not a problem, however there are a few that the lower pressure is detrimental to the function of the shower head.
If you want/need to fix the pressure, unscrew the shower head (water off), separate the connector assembly from the head itself, and look inside the assembly for a water restricting device. Ideally you should be able to see clear through one end of the assembly to the other. Some regulators are easily removable with a pair of needle nose pliers, others need to be broken with a drill. Make sure all debris is clear from the line and reinstall your shower head. Enjoy!
There are many YT videos available showing this process for those that need a visual aid.
Please note depending on your local building codes this might not be in compliance. Also, the building codes were created for water/energy saving purposes, so if that’s a priority for you take that into account. Likewise, by performing this task you will inherently experience a rise in your utility bills.
