And if I say nothing to you then you're just going to act like I'm a mean piece of shit. Make up your mind

No way. You’re my favorite customer. You come into my job, give me your item to ship, I give you a receipt and done. Easy peasy.

I’m not sure if customer service is the right fit for you if greetings bother you.

I never minded being acknowledged and asked how I was when I was in retail. I don't want to chat, but smiles and kindness go a long way. It's nice.

Chances are you’re not the “100th” person to ask really. If you only serve 100 people per day. It’s a 1 in 100 chance. If you serve 200 people per day it’s 2 in 200 chance. Those odds are pretty slim. 🤷♂️

Learn small talk and put personal issues aside at work. People are being polite, you don’t know what they are going through either. It’ll be a sad day when nobody wants to talk in real life...

i have to speak with 40-50 customers daily. The ones that ask how I'm doing dont bother me, its the disingenuous ones where the ask is immediately followed by a question or statement where I would be interrupting them to even give the slightest "good thanks" kind of response back. So why bother. Idk why but it irks me.
