Then all you have to do is tell people on Christmas that don't worry I'm going to get you a gift but I decided to get you one after Christmas because it will be cheaper.
The best part of your birthday being right after christmas
My wife's mom used to buy all her Halloween candy the day after Halloween for next year.
I've tried to do that in the past but it usually only last week or two at the most.
My family has totally opted out of Christmas. Saves everyone a lot of money.
A lot of places raise the price so the discount seems good, when a lot of times you're paying the normal price. Amazon is notorious for this. Let's say something usually costs 100 whatever. They'll raise the price to 120 and discount it by 20 so you end up paying 100 anyway. But to people who don't know better it seems like a decent deal.
Websites like CamelCamelCamel give Amazon price histories so you can see if they've raised prices for "sales."
Edit: An extra tip, for places you can't get a price history it's a good idea to make note of prices of things you're interested in leading up to Black Friday. Start a month or two beforehand. This way you can see if the price has been raised compared to what you saw previously.
Edit 2: A lot of companies ≠ every company. So yes, there still are deals to be found out there. It still doesn't hurt to prepare yourself beforehand so you don't get taken.
Our family for the most part does the same thing, we just buy gifts for all the kids just not for any adults though.
This is not true everywhere. There's actual discounts in tons of places, big ones.
You know you can buy things you need on Black Friday too, right?

Not all needs are urgent needs.
Unless you want to break your life down to be as utilitarian as you possibly can, and at that point, what even is the point?

Why do you think that is going to be the case?
You do realize Black Friday sales as well as Cyber Monday are the shopping time for Christmas, right....???
There are a lot of deals during Black Friday. Compare prices before and during and after, I've saved thousands over the years.
Absolutely! I do clothing shopping, which is a need, during Black Friday sales. I save a lot of money that way. Plus most places stack Black Friday 50% off on top of Clearance, which is absolutely life saving for people like me. I especially shop for work attire during this time since I really can't afford to others times of the year.
Merry Christmas ^in ^February

The Honey app is pretty good, too.
