I never have slept well. I was a grown adult though, before I realized that other people's "sleep" was a totally different experience than what I had ever known!
We had an elderly friend once (in his late 70's at the time), who was pretty upset one morning when he met up with us for breakfast. He had "woken up" during the night. I assumed he meant that afterwards he stayed awake and wasn't able to go back to sleep. But oh, no! He had immediately gone back to sleep, but apparently just being awake any what so ever was an unheard of experience for him and it had ruined his day! Never having known one single night of solid sleep in my life, you can just imagine how astounded I was by his being upset! 🤣

As a parent of young kids who has gotten 1 full night of sleep in 3 years - hell yes I remember that night of good sleep. It was glorious and I wait longingly for the next night of good sleep.

Mmm those good ol days when I had good sleep, I still remember them and dread that I don't have that anymore.
