You’ll also match the screws/bolts to the specific hole to which they mated over time. For cars and machinery this can be important

Good tip. For ones that won’t stay in the disassembled device, you can stick them all to a strip of painters tape and attach that to the device. Or better, a small plastic baggie taped to it.

This is exacly how i lost a screw, cause it fell off under my heavy bookcase after i picked up the fixure.

I agree mate, i just had a bad expirience, i pretty good lpt actually.

LPT: When disassembling something for repairs, screw all screws back in place (without the fixture) and you'll never lose them.
