The young brain has an easier time reading speed than adjusting for the arc of a slow-pitched ball. They will have better results with the faster pitches and it will be more fun for everyone.

I tried that once but my kid charged the mound.
Teaching life lessons on the baseball field, one high and inside pitch at a time.
The next one will likely be low and away. But also keep an eye out for "in your ear".

Firmly agree. Just stand closer to put a little zip on the ball.
If needed, get something to stand behind, but honestly the kiddo won't hit it that hard.
You also need to stand far enough away so they can track the ball.
Many people stand way to close when pitching to a small child
If they take you deep on one make sure you hit them with the next pitch. No time like the present to learn that actions have consequences.

brushback pitches will also help with their reaction speed.
Nothing like giving the little one some chin music 👍
Have you seen how many grown adults that can't make it to home plate from the pitchers mound?
Fuck that, just get a machine. I don't wanna get hit
Or an L screen and save thousands lol.
Literally impossible.
Down know why the down votes, all thrown objects travel in parabolic arcs unless you hit escape velocity.

And if you go high and inside even once, it'll teach that kid not to crowd the plate
