Yeah, so it can drain battery with a constant screen activation against your leg. Locking you out after a 100 failed pattern attempts, opening whatever random crap you have allowed on lockscreen. Or butt-dialing emergency services.
There are settings on all phones to prevent that. If you have this issue you just don't know how to use your phone fully.
I certainly don't know how to enable leg detection on my lockscreen. Hell, most of the time my phone is unlocked by smartwatch proximity, so the lockscreen is just a swipe away from unlocking.
I never experienced anything like that with any phone I owned. The fabric from your pockets should be enough to not trigger the touchscreen.
My phone is constantly in my pocket like that and has never once done any of that. Idk what you’re doing.
If you have a Samsung device it is under >settings >display >accidental touch protection (turn this to on)
Other brands have similar settings
Or I could just not risk calling 911 equivalent and not place my phone in a way that could accidentally activate the screen. Especially when I am taking wireless calls, which unlock the screen on pickup.
I also use a smartwatch to keep my phone unlocked and I constantly have ear buds in to answer calls on my phone which I do about every twenty to thirty minutes during work hours and my phone is always facing my leg so it doesn't break.
Never once had these issues

Never broke any screens (or anything else on my person) either. But I've had butt-dials and random things accidentally activated on my phone in my pocket numerous times.

You are not sweating enough. In summer times my Pixel 6 has this problem all the time. My OnePlus 5T though had some Kind of detection.
I can't find any similar setting on my Pixel.
Sounds like a setting that's easily fixable on your end.
But your leg can activate the touch. Happens to me all the time
What phone do you use? That hasn’t happend to me since 2008, personally.
