This really. I wonder how OP would feel if they got into a new apartment and the holes in the walls were filled with toothpaste. That's fucking gross.
Way better then what I usually get! Which is nothing. Just holes in the wall from previous tenants, maybe with a fresh coat of paint on top. Filling with toothpaste is better than nothing, and most people have toothpaste.

No nail hole is urgent enough to use toothpaste over the proper material like spackle or drywall compound.

A tube of white silicone is cheap and works better.
This is a great tip for people who would otherwise just leave the holes unfilled. If the hole is filled and can be painted over, that's better than most rentals I've moved into.
It’s a better tip than using spackle to whiten your teeth, but not much better.
Your LPT is "if you cause damage to someone's property, just disguise the damage and whatever you do, don't take responsibility for your own actions".
No, actually. Dried toothpaste has similar properties to spackle for small holes but is easier to put on and generally available for most people, so really quite the opposite - don’t leave the holes but here is a way to fix them.
I tried to use this tip once only to discover that I had been using green toothpaste for months without noticing it.

You can do it the right way and spend the same amount on a small tub of spackle. Don’t use toothpaste
