What are you doing with the nozzle that makes your hand smell like gas? In my 30+ years of driving I’ve never gotten gas on my hands or had anyone allude that I smell like gas…

I guess I'm just lucky. I'm not pumping gas on myself, but sometimes the pump already smells like gas.

I would rather not store and put on a dirty glove as an attempt to keep my hands clean. Instead, a box of nitrile disposable mechanic gloves would be good to have on hand for fueling up, or checking and refilling vehicle fluids.

Keeping it in the trunk is a good idea, it is way easier to get the smell off your hand than out of a clothes item.

To be honest, I've been pumping my own gas for many years and I couldn't tell you the last time I got gas on my hands. I do, however, like your idea of keeping gloves in the car in case something breaks and needs to be worked on.
