Don't use google? It's cluttered with ads and promoted links.

I'm baffled how fast I find information when I use other searches engine. Personally I like duckduckgo.

Go way more than one layer deep; say you're looking up info on satellite transponders, look for the links in the Wikipedia entry, find periodicals and so on. Keep drilling in for more original research and the latest work in the field. Try different searches. Military SATCOM transponders? Commercial? What's on different companies' websites? And so on.

Add the name of a relevant website you know will provide quality answers to your search.

E.g for programming related searches, « stack overflow » + your question

You have to be specific what you are looking for.

Depends what you are searching for, you will get ads, thus you have to scroll down half down the page in some cases.

Half the time, I’m looking for something specific but I can exactly describe it. I put in the words click search, afterwards I click on “images” till I find an image that is close what im looking for. I click on similar images that eventually have a name or description what im looking for.

Searching via google images has helped me a lot over the years.

Every time you see anything that even vaugely looks like seo spam, block it (alternatively, via ublock origin). don't feel any mercy. everything you block is designed to extract as much money as they can from you, and if you judged wrongly, you can always go to your settings and unblock it

Put whatever words need to stay together in quotation marks

“Water well drilling”

It will show results with the words together rather than randomly
