I had the same question. I'm no expert, but if you have a database of names linked to locations, etc., isn't it just a matter of finding the country with the most links to a given name? When I think of AI I think of something more fuzzy, more statistical.

Ha, my name is super common in Malawi (where my dad is from) and it is a gendered name. I was listed as unknown
