My wife and I have officially watched 100eps of GBBO, we are part of the way through S11 and have watched since Ep1 S1. We miss Sue and Mel, but Noel and Matt do a great job. Sandy was excellent too.

Paul Hollywood is too damn handsome for his own good.

Sandy and Noel were the best combo imo

I like them all for different reasons. Sandy and Noel were great, Sandy is so unassumingly hilarious and Noel, well hes Noel.

I miss the old segments where they'd dump a heap of info on us about the history of it with Mel and Sue.

Honestly, my wife and I just love GBBO and will be genuinely sad when we have no more left.

Yeah but this wagon destroyed another contestants cake. Not a nice person at all. Although I may be confusing her with another contestant.

There are a lot of times I can do better, but to do that consistently is exhausting. Sometimes I just need to do my "good enough" so I can recharge.

"Your best" isn't a static point of excellence. It's not the pinnacle of your greatest moment. Your best is a flexible thing that changes depending on what you can manage at that moment. It's not about breaking your own records every day, it's about maintaining your abilities so that one day you might break a personal best.

It's still your best, and better yet, it opens up avenues to do betterer, meaning that eventually you have a new best to aspire for while still doing your best regardless.

I always run in to this at work. Job is heavily commission and bonus based so I've always busted my ass to do the best I can. But quotas are based on past performance to an extent, so when increase how much I choose to do it increases how much I have to do. To the point that now I'm stuck working 60+ hour weeks and spending 100 nights a year in hotels because I have to instead of because I want to, instead of being able to get away with 10-15 hours fewer when I feel like it. Shit really sucks

I need this, in its entirety, printed up on a poster. Love this show, love this sentiment in this context.

Always trying to do the best. But can always be better. I can’t always compare yourself to the past, because that’s where I may be stuck. Progress is is made now and the roadmap to my future.

Also remember perfect is the enemy of good enough. Doing your best may mean you are not finishing anything at all. Beware.

Not only can you not ALWAYS do your best but you shouldn't. That would be exhausting. Unless by your best you mean simply putting forth effort. Then of course always do your best. Just remember: anything worth doing is worth doing poorly. Consistency trumps sporadic action every day of the week.
