Respecting yourself = others will respect you.

If you are not being treated with love and respect maybe it’s because of how you treat others?

Ya this one I think can be dangerous because everyone also needs an element of self awareness, like maybe you are actually shitty and that's why you're on the clearance rack. You need to be aware of that and out yourself in a position where you can be behind the glass - just because you say something doesn't make it so.

I feel a awful for the employee. I couldn’t live with myself if my actions as a customer drove someone to quit and threaten suicide.

Love and respect is something that every person deserves. Self-love is a continuous process of becoming aware of and accepting your own needs, emotions, and experiences. It involves developing a positive relationship with yourself and treating yourself with kindness and compassion.

This speaks to me, last year I walked away from a career I worked for 10 years... It stopped filling me with pride and after years, the stress and workload just did not feel worth it. I'm currently on a break but I'm seriously starting to enjoy myself again, working odd volunteer jobs to discover an industry I can be happy in, connecting with family and slowly building myself back up again. I'm as poor as I've ever been, but I've decided I won't trade my mental health for for a job that doesn't feel worth it.

It always confused me when people said this because I didn't understand that respecting myself means not bothering with the people who don't respect me rather than respecting myself naturally making those shitty people want to respect me.

Another ‘it’s all about me’ quote. Some things we do for others, not because it serves us, is a personal growth experience or makes us happy. Example: there are definitely times when your baby howls with colic, your toddler is demanding or your teen is about to do something life threatening and you help out of love, your commitment and compassion, not because your kid is serving you, or you feel it’s a growth experience or are happy.
