If you want to detoxify your brain, stop going on the internet

For real, getting away from my devices does so much.

Take a walk, read a book, pick up a game you havent played in a while, do something with friends that involves leaving your house (if you can)

Its so difficult to just curate only the good stuff. Or good stuff with substance. Taking a break does the brain good.

Reddit lets you make custom feeds, so I make ones of animal subreddits (there are SO MANY out there) and my various hobbies! If you replace the bookmark/shortcut/app you usually use to access Reddit with a link to a custom feed, it’ll help you change your media consumption faster than you can change your habits!

Some of my personal favorite animal subs are the very specific ones, such as r/catsstandingup, r/dogue, r/CatsISUOTTATFO, r/shrimping, r/babushkadogs, and r/longboyes.

Go to the various art or craft subs. It’s typically a bunch of regular people showing off the things they made. It feels nice for the people posting to get comments with positive feedback. It’s cool for people browsing to see what people are designing and able to execute. They’re generally smaller groups of people so it feels more like a positive community vs a sub with millions of people arguing about everything.

I have an separate account that only subs to stuff about art, plants, canoeing, and stuff like that. Its inspiring to see people using their imaginations and taking pride in something they created. It’s just… wholesome

If you want a literal detox of your brain then try the lion diet: eat only ribeye steaks with salt and drink only water. After 90 days you’ll feel like a completely new person.

I’m just recommending 90 days to this guy. Personally I didn’t eat a single calorie from a plant-based source during all of 2021. You don’t need vitamin supplements if you eat beef, eggs, and liver because of how many vitamins and minerals and other micronutrients those foods contain and also how bioavailable they are. Liver is the single most nutrient-dense and vitamin-packed food on Earth. People don’t realize how nutritious eating animals is. And having no fiber in your diet is absolutely glorious — it means you never fart and the volume of your poop decreases by 75% and your digestion feels incredibly smooth. It is just win-win-win.

People just can’t fathom this diet, lol — but consider the fact that our ancestors lived through ice ages that lasted a thousand years. Agriculture is very recent in human history. We’ve been hunters for hundreds of thousands of years.

Not if you discount infant mortality. People definitely were not getting cancer, heart disease, and diabetes. Of course people didn’t have antibiotics back then either. They weren’t dying due to their diet, that’s for sure.
