Fear will tear you limb from limb if you give it an inroad.

Fear is you, making up stories and believing your own bullshit.

Fear is your mind anxiously trying to predict the future.

Fear can't tell you what will happen, ever.

Fear will eat your lunch and deprive you of your futures.

There are things you think, things you know and things you do.

Accomplishment comes from knowing and doing.

Fear comes from thinking.

Overcome mind.

Go.

Hell yes. Fear is the mind killer.

John Wayne once said, “courage is being scared to death and saddling up anyway.”

I once told a group of Marines, “Any one of you that isn’t afraid is a liar or an idiot, and neither one belongs in my platoon.”

Fear is completely natural, especially when you’re making such a huge lifestyle change. You’re not talking about a simple change either, you’re talking about leaving your entire life behind and starting a new one. That’s something to be terrified of! But you know what? You can do it. It will be hard, sure. Nothing in life worth having is easy. And unfortunately there is no cure for fear. But no one is going to hand you your dreams. You have to go out and fight for it. Something I tell myself every day when I wake up miserable and in pain, “There’s nothing to it but to do it.” This applies well to dealing with fear. It’s my own version of “saddling up anyway”.

I'm not sure I can actually help but I used to live in California close to Hollywood and all the major movie studios. My first thought would be, have you taken any acting classes so that you know you have acting potential? Have you done any work that requires acting? I've seen way too many in the LA area come here with big dreams and then crash and burn. It requires lots of money to move (go on Zillow or some other website) and check out the expenses to living in LA or NYC). Check out actors biographies and how they managed their lives and careers. Most worked second jobs for many years before being "discovered". For example Brad Pitt worked at a fast food chicken restaurant to support himself. Are you prepared to the sleeze factor in the acting world (the Harvey Weinstein types). It's not always the glamour some think it is.

1. Can fear make you feel this way about your goals? Can it make you doubt this way in order to sabotage you and keep you in your comfort zone or something?

3. Also, has it ever happened to you?

4. Yes but so can logic. Moving to the big city as an artist is one of the riskiest career decisions on Earth. You could focus on founding a film club and develop a portfolio of scenes for about $1,000 and then you can advance to the big city with tactical plans for success and a balance of j o b life with that of developing as an actor.

5. I chose to never leave my communications and collection of social media accounts. To never go out into the irl of daily life with dreams. I never talk to anyone about my ambitions.

6. I am catching a cold hard case of both fear and logic right now. The fear that I have already failed and the logic that posting nothing new is the best chance for victory.

So answer the hard question first - are you even remotely good at acting? Can you lie straight faced? If you are, then go for it, knowing that there's a 99.99% of failure, But if you succeed, then that 0.01% chance will feel like a million bucks, and you will love it, and because it will be as fleeting as a gust of wind and you'll chase it for the rest of your life.

Try stage, improv, and comb the living shit out of casting agencies looking for extras. It's so fun.
