Dang. For some reason, all my life I never until this comment noticed that "been" is literally pronounced as "bin" (I've been pronouncing it as that, of course, but just never consciously recognized it).

No wonder ESL learners struggle with English. English has so many dumb exceptions that you just have to memorize by rote lol, no exceptions.
