It's actually more consistent because the ladders markings on the right aren't spaced equally apart.
Max_Downforce t1_j0ycvbn wrote
That's also true for the ladder on the left.

Just a matter of perspective.

I was studying it so closely trying to figure out how it was erratic.

Is no one going to comment on the fact the right ladder isn't making progress at all? It's permanently stuck at 10 instead of increasing by 10 each time.

Thanks, I was almost motivated to get off my ass but you saved me.
Scadilla t1_j104nhr wrote
I think it’s trying to picture the progress as just a bit at a time instead of taking chunks out of the whole. It’s like reading 20 pages a night vs chapters 20-30 in one night for this week. Might be easier to consume when not overwhelmed by your overall progress and a need to stay ahead.

The ladder on the left describes increments of increasing difficulty. The top of the ladder is the same height for both.

WHO IS MAKING ALL THESE NONSENSICAL GRAPHICS?
How is the spacing on the left ladder ever more increasing while on the right one it is constant at 10?
dancingcuban t1_j13a3n9 wrote
Left ladder shows distance from bottom in incremented in steps of 50, right ladder shows distance from prior rung in steps of 10.
Graphic is bad and should feel bad.

This graphic has so many issues it’s unreal. It’s like one of those spot the difference puzzles but for fuck ups.

The ADD kids got bored after looking at ladder one. Then felt seen after reading the word “inconsistent”.

"Consistent" isn't the right word. Breaking things down into smaller more manageable steps is great advice though.

How do people take the time to make a graphic, but can't take 2 seconds to Google the word "consistent"?

You can’t change the ladder though. Shitty analogy.

Motivation is the tricky part. I don’t care what it is, as things become routine they can also become boring.

The only consistency in this graphic is its inconsistency...

The ladder on the left is still consistent... The increments are just larger
