You are confusing the Turing test with the singularity. There are already language models that pass the Turing test (LaMDA and ChatGPT).

You might be right on that, but I'm not overly concerned. Like, sure, but I think my point still stands.

Either way, we're close and it's just not as big a deal as it's made it to be - although it might be pretty cool.
